World Wide Field Day Contest 2004
Posted on Saturday, August 28 @ 23:44:47 EDT by 30DX010

Activations 30AT246 writes: "

WWFD.DK is a non-profit and neutral organization, the participaters do not pay anything to take
part in the contest. So all prizes are donated by sponsors for example; Clubs, Groups, People or
Business that is strongly related to our hobby.
This also mean that the kind of Prizes can be changed from year to year, and that there's a possibilty
to give prizes to for example the first 5 positions in a contest - it all depends of the sponsor(s)

WWFD.DK is a non-profit and neutral organization, this means that we are not related to a specific
club or group.
The only purpose is to organize the one and only World Wide Field Day Contest on 11-Meter band.
It’s very important to underline that WWFD.DK is not seeking for members as a club, the intentions of
WWFD.DK is to be a serious partner for existing clubs and to give members of ALL clubs a possibilty

to strengthen the relationship among members in their own club and also to members of other clubs - we believe that it also will increase
friendship for all the 11-meter community. To see the rules click in "read more" at the bottom of this article

We hereby introduce you for the rules for World Wide Field Day

ATTENTION PLEASE: The year 2002 was the first contest year. The Rules might vary as the Contest Board will secure that the Rules are as good and fair as possible.
No later than 21 days before the contest are the Rules done for the Contest 2004.

1.

In the contest, you have to use the special World Wide Field Day Contest Callsign.
Minimum 2 operators has to sign up to each team
Every team get their own special ”Field Day callsign”.
Clubs and groups can paticipate with as many teams they like.
Independent stations can participate as well

5.
You have to sign up for World Wide Field Day via wwfd.dk Internet site. When you sign up, you receive your special World Wide Field Day callsign immediately and via email. When the callsign is received, the Contest Manager has 3 days to validate your participation. If you have not received a letter from Contest Manager within 3 days after your sign up, your participation is confirmed.

6.
The callsign, that your team has to use for the contest, is automatically generated by wwfd.dk, using this formula:
DXCC-number club/FD001 (example: 47OZ/FD001 or 1AT/FD002)
If your team not represent a club or group, the callsign-letters will be FD representate Field Day. (example 47FD/FD001 or 1FD/001)

The allowed mode is SSB and FM. The only frequencies allowed during the World Wide Field Day Contest is from 26.965 MHz to 27.405 MHz and from 27.600 MHz to 27.800 MHz. however it is OK to make a CQ on callfrequenzies and then QSY, please show your respect if a frequencies is in use of others.
WWFD.DK recommend all participating teams to participate in a way, so local law and club-rules is not broken. WWFD.DK do not accept responsibility for teams breaking local law and club-rules.

8.

The log has to be send to Word Wide Field Day contest manager in this format:

Date Time (GMT) Callsign Frequency RS given Prog. TX Prog. RX
07-09-2002 14:32 152SR102 27650 59 1 3
07-09-2002 14:59 53RH013 27650 57 2 2
07-09-2002 15:13 1AR/FD001 27650 51 3 12
07-09-2002 17:54 13GF/FD003 27650 55 4 56
08-09-2002 02:01 56SK101 27650 41 5 43
08-09-2002 06:18 56SK/FD005 27650 59 6 241
08-09-2002 06:19 13GF/FD001 27650 59 7 187
08-09-2002 06:19 13FD/FD002 27650 59 8 256

9.
The Logfiles and proper documentations(photos etc.) has to be send to the Contest Manager via email no later than 21 days after the contest has finished. You must also include the points calculation scheme. To be declared as winner it is nessecary to send proper documentation and these will be published at wwfd.dk for all teams winning a price. Documentation sent later that 21 days after the contast has finished will not be uploaded to wwfd.dk.

10.
In order not to have any problems, we strongly recommend you to secure yourself by providing proper documentation. Via photos you can show, that you are using a generator or battery, and you have a portable antenna.
Take the pictures, so there is no doubt that the team is using the equipment. A picture of a generator and nothing more shows no proof.
See our pictures proofs page for more detailed information concerning pictures proof.(not ready yet)

11.
It is absolutely free, if you want to exchange QSL, it is not nessecary for your score, however we strongly recommend stations to do so, if one part ask for a QSL-exchange. It is OK to ask for “normal contribution” (1 us$ or 1IRC), however, you don’t have to!

12.
All questions regarding rules will be treated by the Contest Manager.

13.
Points will be calculated after this formular:
1 Point for a QSO
5 Point for a DXCC
10 Point for working a participating team (a /FD-station)
You multieplie all your point with the total number of worked /FD-teams

Example:

90 QSO X 1 = 90 points
15 DXCC’s X 5 = 75 points
20 /FD-stations X 10 = 200 points

Total points 365 X 20 /FD = 7300 points
