just found this site so i thought i'd join
i'm in the lovely county of north yorkshire and have been into radio since 1990,had so many radios,so many call signs
worked lots of countries but due to bad stuff in my life i sold everything up in 2000
anyway things are on the up again and i decided to buy another radio earlier this year,ok a cobra 200 is a bit of a come down from an ft900 but never mind!
currently running a president george with a little help into an antron home base,mobile the same but into a modulator
i've been surprised with the skip in the last few months and so many people told me not to bother getting back into dx because of bad conditions but they were wrong!
ok i havn't heard much from outside europe but it will come again!

the cobra is a good radio for the price,if you buy from the usa
output power is very good,will tune to well over 150 watts
there's just a few little faults,like when your using full power the frequency readout changes by a few khz when you talk,the roger bleep starts doubling up
other people have complained about bad filtering on ssb and scratchy audio
they are not perfect,but since i bought and sold mine a newer improved model has come out,not sure if this sorts out the original probs
