America Contest - 2008
Participants
All the stations in the world (AT and non AT) are invited to participate. The participants will divide themselves in 3 (three) different categories:
Category - AT American stations
Category - non AT American stations
Category - stations outside America (AT and non AT)
Only "Single Operator" modality will be allowed.
Note: See Awards nș2 and nș5 for American DXCC countries reference list.
Modes and Frequencies
All contacts made in all modes within the frequency ranging 27405 to 27495 and 27605 to 27855 will be considered as valid. All modes of transmission will be allowed.
Date and duration
Starting date: April, 19th at 15:00 GMT
Finishing date: April, 20th at 15:00 GMT
Total length: 24 hours
Objectives and Score
American stations' (A and B Categories) objective will be to contact the biggest quantity of participant stations; while the stations of the rest of the world (C Category) must contact the biggest quantity of American stations. The score of each participant will be calculated as it follows:
A Category
10 points for each American country
1 point for each valid contact
Note: The contacts between stations from same countries will be considered as valid.
B Category
10 points for each American country.
1 point for each valid contact.
1 point for each AT American station contacted.
Note: The contacts between stations from same countries will be considered as valid.
C Category
10 points for each American country
1 point for each valid contact
1 point for each AT American station contacted.
Note: In this category only the contacts made with American stations will be considered as valid.
Tie break: It can be held between two or more participant stations. The winner station will be the one that managed to get all the contacts (and so the score) in the shorter period of time (first to last contact).
Log and Progressives
As in the AT World Contest, we suggest the participants to use the official AT LOG SHEET to mark the contacts. It is NOT necessary to change QSL cards during the contest (only the Log guarantees each contacted station). Only contacts made with participants appearing in at least 20% of the Logs received by committee will be considered as valid.

Note: Remember to send your Log, is very important for the final classification!
Committee
America Contest Committee' organizing will be formed this year by 12AT014 Walter & 12AT189 Pablo.
Prizes and Classification
The general positions will be published in Eleven news, Internet, and various world-wide news forums. The following prizes will be awarded:
A Category 1st place
B Category 1st place
C Category 1st place
The awards will be handed in at the Uruguay 2008 Meeting, or posted to the winners in case they are not present at the meeting. Certificate for all station that send 2 IRC with LOG. All the stations of the world can participate. Stations of America can contact all the participant stations. Stations outside America shall only contact stations of America. 10 points by country of America will be obtained. 1 point by valid contact. For Categories B and C - 1 point by each AT American station contacted. Total length is 24 hours. Remember to send your Log to the organizing Committee (we suggested format AT Log Sheet). It is NOT necessary to exchange QSL to certify the contacts. Only the stations that appear in 20% of the Logs received will be considered as valid. 1st of the A Category, and winner of B and C Categories will be awarded. The prizes will be given in the Meeting Uruguay 2008, or will be sent by mail after the meeting is accomplished.
